E-Commerce Ordering Platform for Site Equipment
Leading Construction Group
How a leading construction firm digitized its equipment requisition process, replacing manual phone orders and adapting the workflow to project managers' preferences.
Process Visualization

The Challenge
The company's site equipment ordering relied heavily on manual phone calls, written logs, and text messages from site supervisors. This process led to high error rates, duplicated rentals, and incorrect deliveries. To solve this, we initially built a robust project management dashboard, but field project managers strongly preferred using WhatsApp, leading to low adoption of the dashboard.
The Solution
We built a mobile-friendly e-commerce ordering catalog that replaced phone ordering. Listening to user feedback, we pivoted from the complex project management dashboard to a simplified pipeline integrated directly with the WhatsApp Business API for order status, updates, and approvals.
Implementation
User journey mapping with site supervisors and warehouse logisticians
Mobile web e-commerce catalog development with real-time stock indicators
Integration with existing warehouse management systems (WMS)
Pivot from dashboard UI to direct WhatsApp notification workflows
Rollout, adoption monitoring, and feedback collection loops
